August 12, 2000

The trail steeply climbs through the woods, at times entering open slopes, and in 1.5 mile reaches a junction with Pacific Crest Trail near Hope Lake . The trail is well maintained and very nice to hike. Most of the way from the trailhead to the junction the trail is surrounded with huckleberry bushes that are a treat. The lake is shallow with grassy shores. There are several campsites at the lake. Backcountry toilet is available.

If head north (left) from Hope Lake and follow PCT for about 0.7 mile you will reach Mig Lake . This part of the trail is easy and pleasant hike. The lake is nice with open shores. A small pond near the lake is grown with water-lilies . There are several campsites around the lake.
