July 4, 2000

The trail enters the woods and gradually climbing leads to Cottonwood Lake in about 0.4 mile. Lake's shores are marshy grown with bushes. There are several campsites at the lake. From here the trail gets a little steeper and climbs in switchbacks for about 0.6 mile to Mirror Lake. Before the lake the trail joins with PCT #2000. There is still some snow at this part of the trail. Trail follows the east shore of the lake, there are several campsites along the trail.
