July 21, 2001

The trail starts by crossing Cle Elum River (bikers are not allowed after this point), and gradually ascends through the woods for about 2 miles to a Y-junction. Trail Creek Trail #1322 goes to the left, providing access to the trails that lead to Waptus Lake, Lake Michael, Terenc Lake. The main trail continues to the right, gradually climbing for about 0.5 mile to Squaw Lake . There are several campsites near the lake (one of which requires reservation), a backcountry toilet is available too. From the lake the trail continues climbing for about another mile, at times steep, to the meadow. Here it evens up for a little, then with gradual elevation gain reaches another open area, which offers exceptional view of the Cathedral Rock . A quick 0.1 mile descend leads to a small pretty lake with a nice campsite. The trail continues for another 0.1 mile ascending to a junction with PCT.
