Right near the parking lot there is Asahel Curtis Nature Trail #1023 trailhead, Annette Lake trailhead is about 100 feet up the road on the left side. With a gradual climb, the trail goes through the woods and in 0.1 mile reaches Humpback Creek bridge. Another 0.6 mile of easy hiking brings you to Iron Horse Trail. Past the Iron Horse the trail enters the woods, gets steeper and switchbacks for about 2 miles until it reaches an open rocky slope. A very easy 0.8 mile descend leads you to the lake . Several campsites are situated near the lake. The south and east sides the lake are surrounded with Abiel Peak and Silver Peak .
