| From
Seattle take I-90 East to Exit 62. Turn left at the Stop onto Kachess
Lake Road #49 and follow it for about 5.2 miles to the T junction.
Turn left onto gravel Road # 4930. Rachel
Lake Trail #1313 trailhead is in 4 miles on the right side of
the road. Follow Rachell Lake Trail for 4.3 miles. |

The
trail steeply climbs up Rampart Ridge for about 0.4 mile, then evens
up for about 0.1 mile. From here a good view of the Box Ridge, Lila
Lakes 
and Alta Pass
opens up. The trail starts climbing again and in about 1 mile reaches
the summit (6151 ft) .
There is a register inside on the bigger cairn on the summit. Gorgeous
views of Mount Rainier, Chikamin
Peak ,
Huckleberry Mountain, Alaska
Mountain and Alaska Lake, Mt. Thompson and Gold
Creek valley open up form here.
